The Little Graduate

I am actually getting in more than one post in 3 months. Hey I might even be able to keep it up. Today was the last day of school for the boys. We had Kindergarten graduation last night and it was awesome. The Kindergarten Graduates didn't have to go to school today. Corbin loved it. Corbin looked so cute in his cap and gown. He did look a bit bored. They had a fun day at school so i think he was tired. I was having camera issues. i believe operator error so luckily we had the video camera and it conked out about 1/2 way through. I didn't think to charge it until a few hours before. That must tell you how often we use it. Luckily by the time it died I managed to get my camera skills under control and get some good shots. Corbin brought home a couple of awards. He got the Good Thinking award for Math and Bright Idea award for creative writing. I talked to his teacher today and she said that he got that award because he always came up with a different story during journal time. I read his journal and sure enough he doesn't repeat one story and they are soooo cute. Definitely keeping that for him to look at when he is older. He also lost his first tooth last week. It was very dramatic how it happened. He lost it during music eating a lollipop. It made it back to the classroom and the teacher made a cute pocket for it, but forgot to send home on Monday. Corbin was ok with it when i explained to him that the tooth fairy would wait for it to make it home before she could get his tooth. It came home the next day and he had write a story to the the tooth fairy. He made his own pocket for it as well. His story went like this. I lost my tooth on Monday. I lost my tooth at school. It was the first baby tooth I lost. He only misspelled baby. Very Proud parents. Now onto Dorsan(again very proud parents. He received the award today for Most Improved Writer. It has been great to see his writing come home and to see how much he has improved just over this year. He has never really liked writing and to see the effort he put in for this year has been amazing. He wrote this really neat story about him, his dad, the beebee gun and a snake. He also wrote a book about a go cart. It was really cool. I owe that to his totally awesome teacher. We got really Just wish she could move up the grades with him. Dorsan has never shown such an interest in reading and writing and wanting to do better in school. His math improved greatly as well. It has been a blessing for us that he had just a dedicated teacher that made him want to do his best. We did have a bump in the road with a sub while his teacher was on maternity leave, but all turned out really well. I decided to get his teacher a gift and it wound up turning into a class gift. Ladies I have not scrapbooked in sometime and it was left up to me to get the gift together so I will attach the photo of the page I made for her. I think it turned out very well for a rusty old scrapbooker that needs to get back into it. I also found this cute fruit basket that was painted black with sunflowers and a birdhouse that says "Welcome Friends" above it. My friend's mom owns the store i got it at. I love that store i wish i could spend my whole paycheck there. She builds furniture and cabinets. I will try to get a photo of it and post it. Well your eyes are probably drooping from all this reading so i will wrap it up. I am going to try to attach the video of Corbin singing at graduation, but we will see.

Here we are again

So I just finished typing everything and then had an error on the page and it didn't save. So here I go again. The boys are doing great and getting bigger than ever. Corbin was sick the day before his birthday party, so unfortunately he didn't get one this year. He is almost 4ft tall now. He has his 1st loose tooth. It should fall out one day soon. They had a blast painting easter eggs. We had 3 easter egg hunts this year so they pulled in quite a bit of loot. They are both enjoying school and Dorsan is doing alot better with his grades. He is almost 5ft tall now. Soon he will be bigger than me. Their spring concert was a reinactment of Tom Sawyer. They both did really well. Corbin, my ham, stood in the middle of the stage and waved at me when his part was done. Of course I had already turned off my camera! They always seem to do the funny stuff when you're done taking pics. Work is going well. Almost done my last day is May 21st. My contract was renewed and i renewed it, but i am going to try looking for something that pays better. We would like to get started on the house again and be able to go on vacation so it looks like I will be hitting the streets this summer looking, and if I don't find something then i do have a job lined up for the fall. Scott is still working for the City and still looking to move up within the City. Hope that happens soon and he gets a day shift. He worked the day shift for a couple of days one week and we loved having him home in the evenings. I had better get some pics posted and get on with the day. Happy Mothers Day!
