I am a cheater

I have been unfaithful to my blogspot. I joined facebook and forgot all about updating my blog. I was reminded when I opened my Christmas card today from my wonderful sister in law Tyra. Thank you for reminding me of the error of my ways. So here i am updating my blog. I have sent the update on the fam with the christmas cards, so today I just need to add a bunch of photos. The boys had their pinewood derby for Scouts earlier this month. Corbin's skull car placed 2nd in his den for design and 3rd for speed. Dorsan's snickers car placed 1st in his den for design. Unfortunately neither one took home a trophy, but we were happy with their achievements. Corbin is so much like his father when it comes to getting something done just right it is scary. I thought living with one perfectionist could be bad, but two of them makes it really bad. Any mistakes in the painting of Corbin's car and it was the end of the world to him. He finally learned after making a couple and trying to fix them not to touch is already pretty awesome car. Dorsan was just happy it didn't have too much sanding to do this time. On another note I am extremely proud of Dorsan and his grades this year. We are working hard on his homework and getting better at understanding what he is doing and putting it all together. It has been a nightmare some nights with both of them with homework and just me here to get it all done so we can get to our activities in town. I really don't know how you guys with more than 2 get it all done without pulling your hair out. He brought home his 1st 2 A's on any test he taken this year before Christmas break. On his midterms he had 3 A's and 2 B's. He is working toward money for a nintendo DS. Hope he keeps it up. Corbin doesn't any help from me except to let me know I am not paying him any attention. Luckily he picks up on his school work without problems. I am including some halloween pics, pinewood derby pics, and christmas pics. I promise I will be more faithful and update the blog more frequently. If you find me relinquishing in my duties please shoot me a comment on facebook or email reminding me of my unfaithful ways to my blogspot.

The Little Graduate

I am actually getting in more than one post in 3 months. Hey I might even be able to keep it up. Today was the last day of school for the boys. We had Kindergarten graduation last night and it was awesome. The Kindergarten Graduates didn't have to go to school today. Corbin loved it. Corbin looked so cute in his cap and gown. He did look a bit bored. They had a fun day at school so i think he was tired. I was having camera issues. i believe operator error so luckily we had the video camera and it conked out about 1/2 way through. I didn't think to charge it until a few hours before. That must tell you how often we use it. Luckily by the time it died I managed to get my camera skills under control and get some good shots. Corbin brought home a couple of awards. He got the Good Thinking award for Math and Bright Idea award for creative writing. I talked to his teacher today and she said that he got that award because he always came up with a different story during journal time. I read his journal and sure enough he doesn't repeat one story and they are soooo cute. Definitely keeping that for him to look at when he is older. He also lost his first tooth last week. It was very dramatic how it happened. He lost it during music eating a lollipop. It made it back to the classroom and the teacher made a cute pocket for it, but forgot to send home on Monday. Corbin was ok with it when i explained to him that the tooth fairy would wait for it to make it home before she could get his tooth. It came home the next day and he had write a story to the the tooth fairy. He made his own pocket for it as well. His story went like this. I lost my tooth on Monday. I lost my tooth at school. It was the first baby tooth I lost. He only misspelled baby. Very Proud parents. Now onto Dorsan(again very proud parents. He received the award today for Most Improved Writer. It has been great to see his writing come home and to see how much he has improved just over this year. He has never really liked writing and to see the effort he put in for this year has been amazing. He wrote this really neat story about him, his dad, the beebee gun and a snake. He also wrote a book about a go cart. It was really cool. I owe that to his totally awesome teacher. We got really Just wish she could move up the grades with him. Dorsan has never shown such an interest in reading and writing and wanting to do better in school. His math improved greatly as well. It has been a blessing for us that he had just a dedicated teacher that made him want to do his best. We did have a bump in the road with a sub while his teacher was on maternity leave, but all turned out really well. I decided to get his teacher a gift and it wound up turning into a class gift. Ladies I have not scrapbooked in sometime and it was left up to me to get the gift together so I will attach the photo of the page I made for her. I think it turned out very well for a rusty old scrapbooker that needs to get back into it. I also found this cute fruit basket that was painted black with sunflowers and a birdhouse that says "Welcome Friends" above it. My friend's mom owns the store i got it at. I love that store i wish i could spend my whole paycheck there. She builds furniture and cabinets. I will try to get a photo of it and post it. Well your eyes are probably drooping from all this reading so i will wrap it up. I am going to try to attach the video of Corbin singing at graduation, but we will see.

Here we are again

So I just finished typing everything and then had an error on the page and it didn't save. So here I go again. The boys are doing great and getting bigger than ever. Corbin was sick the day before his birthday party, so unfortunately he didn't get one this year. He is almost 4ft tall now. He has his 1st loose tooth. It should fall out one day soon. They had a blast painting easter eggs. We had 3 easter egg hunts this year so they pulled in quite a bit of loot. They are both enjoying school and Dorsan is doing alot better with his grades. He is almost 5ft tall now. Soon he will be bigger than me. Their spring concert was a reinactment of Tom Sawyer. They both did really well. Corbin, my ham, stood in the middle of the stage and waved at me when his part was done. Of course I had already turned off my camera! They always seem to do the funny stuff when you're done taking pics. Work is going well. Almost done my last day is May 21st. My contract was renewed and i renewed it, but i am going to try looking for something that pays better. We would like to get started on the house again and be able to go on vacation so it looks like I will be hitting the streets this summer looking, and if I don't find something then i do have a job lined up for the fall. Scott is still working for the City and still looking to move up within the City. Hope that happens soon and he gets a day shift. He worked the day shift for a couple of days one week and we loved having him home in the evenings. I had better get some pics posted and get on with the day. Happy Mothers Day!

How the time flies!

I knew I was running behind on updating the blog, but really thought I had gotten some christmas picks on here. Guess that shows how with it I have been. So now I have a few months to catch up on. I went to Grandma and Grandpa's 65th wedding anniversary the beginning of Dec. so will throw in some pics from that. We had a really good Christmas with dad and the fam down to visit. My 1st time baking a ham turned out really good and I am still pulling some of it from the freezer. Takes a whole new meaning to left overs. We have had 5 snow days now and will see what tomorrow brings. I am not used to having it snow and having the day off work. My house has stayed pretty clean this winter. The kids are doing well and we finally had just the right kind of snow to build a snowman. Dorsan has named him Fred. I forgot how much work goes into building a snowman. I don't think my arms have had that good of a workout in a bit. Both boys are really enjoying school. Well I had better post picks so I can work on dinner and the boys can take over the computer for a bit.
