Here are the photos from Halloween. The kids had a blast. We picked up Noah and headed out for the evening. We started out at the YMCA for a carnival. The kids had fun, but was definitely for the younger crowd. We left before the costume contest and headed out to beat the streets. We went through Holiday hills subdivision and they had some really cool yard displays. I should have taken pics. Corbin was the Grim Reaper this year and even had the scary voice to go with it. I think he is going to be able to imitate voices like Scott does. Both boys love to sing so I hope one of them gets the hern voice and can sing really well. Dorsan decided to be a scarecrow this year. It was fun putting together his outfit and i have to say I did a pretty good job on it. Scott did the makeup so that is why it looks so good. We took the boys to a haunted forest that a friend of ours put on so it wasn't scary to us, but the chainsaw guy did scare the crap out of the kids.

update from us
Ok so it has been quite awhile since I have updated the blog. We have been busy with swimming lessons, scouts, and soccer. I finally have a day that I work on this. Since I have not figured out how to the right pictures with the right story I am going to post a couple of different blogs. I need to be more computer literate. Give me a spreadsheet any day and I can figure it out. It doesn't help that our computer is having issues and I am using the laptop. We will start with soccer as i have been a bad mom and do not have any photos of swimming lessons. I am taking my camera this week so i get pics of Corbin swimming to the deep end of the pool and diving in. He has come so far. So here we go with soccer. Dorsan really enjoys playing soccer. He is getting better at it, but still has a ways to go. We got so much rain in October and it rained almost every thursday which was practice day so his team didn't get to practice much. He enjoys playing goalie. Especially since he figured out he can stop the ball with his hands and by landing on it. He still needs to work on his footwork, and nobody on his team is really aggressive with the other players. They would kick the ball and than stand back to see where it went instead of getting in there to get it. It was fun to watch and some days we just shook our heads. We won one game by default, but he had so much fun playing.

1st day of school
Dorsan and Corbin posing for mom
Corbin running for the bus.
Corbin getting on the bus.Corbin started Kindergarten today. It is hard to believe how fast the time flies. It was very comical this morning. I went in and woke the kids up before I started to get ready thinking that because they slept in all summer I would have trouble getting them up. They woke right up and jumped out of bed and were waiting on me. They had gotten dressed and were watching cartoons by the time I was finished getting ready. We got to grandma and grandpa hern's house where they catch the bus about 5 minutes before the bus so not alot of time for photos. The kids had just put down their book bags and turned on the T.V. when we see the bus coming down the road. Corbin was so excited that he started running for the bus. We were trying to yell at him and tell him to hold on for pictures. Luckily with the small community the bus drivers understand the wanting of photos the 1st day. We finally got Corbin stopped long enough to get his mugshot and then he was ready to sit down on the bus forgetting all about giving kisses to mom and dad. We had to finagle those and then he was off like a shot again. We even had to tell Dorsan to stop so we could get his mugshot as well. He came home very excited about his 1st day of school. What he remembers most (because it is the most important part of his day) is that if he gets in trouble and loses his apples then he loses his recess. They had a busy day and thinking of how busy their day was you would think they would go right to bed right. Well I am having a time getting them to sleep tonight. I know I'm beat after my day at school. I never understood why I heard teachers talking about going to sleep at about 8 o'clock and now I know. I come home and am tired. Of course that may have something to do with my new schedule and the fact that I don't get to sleep in anymore. We already have the 1st birthday invitation of the year, so it looks like it will be a busy one. Until next time

better late than never

As we can see even being home this summer I have not done well keeping the blog updated. We went camping in July, but I do not have many pictures as I would not take my camera out on the boat for fear that I would drop it in the lake, and I forgot to buy a waterproof one I could take. Would have been great to get photos of Corbin napping during the boat ride. We have just be lazing around the house so not many pics there. I have a few of camping and a few of the cub scouts swim party, so here they are. I started working last week and tomorrow is the 1st day of school where i work so who knows when i will get it updated again. Hopefully this weekend since the boys start school wednesday. I just hope Scott remembers to take the camera so he can get pics of them getting on the bus. Hard to believe Corbin is in Kindergarten already.

Uncle Josh playing shark with the kids.We spent the 3rd and 4th with family. Josh, Tyra, the kiddos and Aaron and Angie and the kiddos were all in on the 3rd. We spent the day at the pool and at grandma and grandpa's house. The kids had fun playing shark with Uncle Josh in the pool. we couldn't get Corbin out of the hot tub. It was a busy and fun filled weekend. we stayed and shot fireworks at Davey and Dawn's. Corbin Burned his leg on a sparkler, but other than that suprisingly no other burns from fireworks. I have taken so many photos and would to post most of them but then i would be here all night. Until next time. We are camping next weekend so should have some crazy photos of that.

Dorsan's Birthday Party

Dorsan's 8th Birthday was this past weekend and we had a pool party for him. His cousins all came to play. It seems like I will be having pool parties forever, and it is always about 100 degrees on the day of his party. We had some water balloons for the kids as well. They had fun with those, but of course after about 5 minutes they were gone. Cousin Kennan was up from Alabama and Dorsan was pretty excited. We took them to go see Transformers. The new transformers is definitely for teens and adults and not the kids so much. We were disappointed because of the amount of language and crudeness. We expected it to be like the first one and more kid oriented. So if you are thinking of taking the kiddos to see it here is the heads up. I would have more pictures but I always forget to charge the battery on my camera right before something major so I run out of battery about 10 minutes in. Will have more to post after the reunion. Even have one of us together.

kids and food

The kids have decided they would rather play with their food before they eat it. Here are some pics of the kids and their food creations. I also have a picture of Corbin with my oven mitts on his hands and feet because he wanted to become a monkey. Here is a picture of Dorsan at his cub scout car wash. They raised about $260.00.
Corbin swimming

So this past weekend Corbin decided to let go of the life jacket and try swimming all on his own. He is doing pretty well with it. We are in our 2nd set of swimming lessons and he has finally worked up the confidence to venture out on his own. Now he is trying to dive under and touch the bottom of the pool and swim underwater as well as jumping off the ladder and the side of the pool at the Y. Dorsan has passed the deep water swim test and likes to go under in the deep end and dive for rings and things on the bottom of the pool. He really loves going down the slide at the Y. Will have to try and get a picture next time. Too many kids in the pool this past time and was afraid they would get my camera wet with all their splashing.

preschool graduation

So I forgot to post Corbin's Preschool graduation photos. He is so excited to be going to Kindergarten next year. They had a 1/2 day where the preschool age kids got to spend the morning in kindergarten. Corbin got to ride the bus to school with Dorsan. He was really excited about riding the bus. From what I hear the Kindergarten teacher for Blackwater is awesome. I just hope she is there this fall when he starts I have heard rumors that she may not be teaching next year. Dorsan received 4 awards at the end of the year. He was really excited to receive all those. Here is Dorsan break dancing for the school talent show. He did pretty well and most of the parents were commenting on doing those moves when they were younger. Everybody was laughing. I was afraid Dorsan wouldn't make it or would feel hurt with the audience laughing, but was excited about it all. I have a feeling when Adam sees this he will gladly teach the sprinkler and some of the other taff favorites to Dorsan's moves.

The time has come

So I have now joined the world of the blogspot. Hope I can keep it updated regularly and being home this summer I should be able to become the camera wizard and take bunches of photos of the boys and the updates on the house. Last weekend we added a patio to the back of the house and cemented in the rocks on the waterfall. Actually have photos to post of those. I will have more photos than stories at the moment so I will try to cram as much in as possible. I will add photos of Corbins b-day party and more I have taken throughout the year. Corbin is quite the goofball he reminds me of Adam and Jake with some of things he can do like the glasses and underwear on his head. Dorsan is just into video games so it hard to get get him in goofy moments. Although thought the photo of him during one of his basketball games was quite comical. He did crack me up during his spring concert when we was swinging his arms the entire time he was singing.
